Japan Trip

Welcome to my first blog post!

2018 has been a crazy ride for me. I’m working full time, singing with my choir at least once a week, recording in the studio more often than ever, and performing in exciting concerts like Underscore. It’s the busiest I’ve ever been - but it’s propelled me with a forward motion and excitement I’ve never felt before.

Next week I head off to Japan (straight after a whirlwind day flying to Sydney and back to perform in an art gallery). I’ve technically been there before, in utero, as my mother worked for Japan Airlines as a flight attendant in the 90’s. I’ve been fascinated with all things Japan for as long as I remember…especially the fooooooood, which I’m planning to eat a lot of, especially yakitori, sushi, ramen, tempura, sashimi…the works. I’m lucky to be going with my partner Fabian who lived in Japan when he was younger, and my favourite composer/friend Kevin Penkin who conveniently speaks fluent Japanese. Learning the language is definitely a long term goal for me - and maybe even a short term goal if Tokyo Game Show goes well. Wish me luck! Thanks for reading :)
